Lee Whitehead is a veteran face of the UKMMA scene. He has worked with top MMA sites (MMA Weekly) and publications (MMA unlimited) and is often found cage-side at events snapping some absolutely beautiful fight shots. I am a huge fan of great MMA photography – as I have said before on this blog. Capturing moments that tell the story of a fight and indeed, the story of the fighters emotions, is a skill I really admire and Lee does it really well. Lee is familiar with the inside of the cage as well, having competed in MMA previously and I think having this experience can only enhance a photographers ability to be ready to get that shot: The perfect picture that tells the story of the fight or captures the fight ending moment.
So I am really pleased to say that Lee is bringing out a book of some his best work: Blunt Force Trauma. It is not out until the 24th October but is available to pre-order from Amazon now.
You could also visit the website for more details, reviews and a sneaky peek at some of the pics.
This one is going on my xmas list. If you love MMA and great MMA photography then I suggest it goes on yours too 🙂
